Please vote for which day works better for you; July 25th or 26th.

We are planning on having an event at Gingerman Raceway in late July. The official date is TBA, but will either be 25 or 26th. This won't be a full track day exclusive to us or anything, but just a meet-up at the track for one of their 6pm-dusk sessions that cost just $60. We really want to make this an annual 'performance' event for the club, as our now-annual meets both in the spring at Craig's Cruisers and late summer for the GR 28th St. Metro Cruise are growing into outstanding social events!

For those who are so inclined, Gingerman is a great track for beginners to practice the fine are of performance driving.

Even if you just want to meet up with some other members, you can watch some Z's race around Gingerman in the background. You can take pictures, and maybe some video footage to keep as a memento. Obviously what I am trying to say is you don't HAVE to race, but rather we are having the meet-up at a race track so it's convenient if you want to

Here is a link to a great video, so you can even drive Gingerman in advance if you want to:

Count me in. I could use the practice. I hope my brakes don't fade too bad.

I will likely be out there this week with Bronco Motorsports in their cars. One of our wheel to wheel drivers will ride with me.

I've never driven on a track before, what is required?
I assume there is a tech inspection, do I need a helmet?
Is this an scca type event or just "show up, don't crash too bad"?

1.) Brakes, suspension and an engine
2.) Nobody inspected our cars when we went, AFAIK
3.) You need a helmet
4.) Not SCCA sanctioned
5.) Exactly

Keep in mind that this is a real racetrack and several other cars will be out there on the track. If you haven't done an autocross with your car before, I honestly wouldn't recommend it.

I'm in; how many cars do they let out at a time?
Do they group cars by class or experiance or just mix it up?

My desire to drive on a track is balanced with my desire to not f*** up my car going too fast around a sweet track. I suppose I could balance that out by not stretching myself outside my level of experience though...

I guess tat means that means I should run low boost and stay withing "sane" speed levels... And there it is :)

Normally there are few enough cars and it's a big enough track that they just let you run freely as long as you can. I would recommend going for a couple laps at a time and giving 5-10 mins of cooldown time for engine, brakes and tires to recover if you feel you may have any heat issues.

You won't if you are careful. There's only one dangerous corner coming onto the front straight, the rest of the turns have LOTS of runoff if you blow through the corner. This is a track with VERY few incidents in comparison to other tracks because it's so newbie-friendly. Run at just 75% of full speed and it's still tons of fun, even safer, and takes a much smaller toll on tires and brakes than driving at or near the limit will.
