I got this in my email today. I think it sounds like a good time and maybe a great way to get WMZ club to represent and find some new members. What do you guys think?

From: Tru Power Motorsports <trupowermotorsports@yahoo.com> The first official Xceed/ Sport Compact West Side Spring BBQ Will beheld Saturday, April 26th at 11 a.m. at Grand Haven State Park inGrand Haven. This meet will also be held in conjunction with an OpenHouse and Dyno Day at Modified FX/ Allspeed Performance. We will begin the day in Grand Haven for a meet, some grilling, andjust hanging out. The park is easy to find and right on the beachwith a large parking lot and grilles for cooking. There will be a feeto park in the state park, but it shouldnt be more than $10-SO BRINGCASH! This will help to weed out people that were not invited that mycause problems and get us into trouble. Sometime in the afternoon we will caravan from the meet in GrandHaven to the shop in Muskegon. There will be an open house at theshop for everyone to check out the facilities, as well as a dynosession for those interested in seeing how much power their carmakes~E The dyno available is a DynoJet 220x 2WD model. We are limiting thenumber of cars to 5-7 due to time constraints. The fee for 3 pulls onthe dyno will be $25. This one time only price is valid for XCEEDMEMBERS ONLY. No need to prepay- payment the day of the event isfine! No one will be permitted to operate their own vehicle on the dyno.Mike and other ALLSPEED staff will handle all driving duties. This isa safety issue to prevent any accidents on the dyno. This will alsospeed up the dyno process. DISCLAIMER: DO NOT come to this meet if you can~Rt control yourself in your car.We have not had an event like this on the West side and we will nothave irresponsible people ruin it by revving, playing loud music, doing burnouts, or just acting like idiots in general. The GHPD areconstantly patrolling and it only takes one person screwing up to getus all hassled and thrown out of the park. Another thing I am going to put out there is NO ALCOHOL. I know thepark has restrictions on it and I~Rm not positive what those are, butI think we would all be better off to save the boozing for Saturdaynight. That way we can keep this a family-friendly event and lookbetter to the public and the cops- the less reason we give them tohassle us, the better. THIS WILL BE AN ALCOHOL FREE EVENT. If you dont like that or cantstop yourself from drinking for 5-8 hours, then please stay home. CRUISINGInsight from Patrick: "Also, there must be an understanding ofdriving between GH and MFX. Depending on the route taken, generallySAFE driving MUST be enforced. I've seen too many people that get tooexcited and start weaving from lane to lane, dangerous maneuverstrying to pass on a two lane road, etc." That being said, please be a responsible adult and keep the drivingsmart from the park to the shop. I would hate to have anyone be hurt, damage their cars, or get in trouble with the law from driving likean idiot. We all want to hang out and have a good time, so lets keepthings smart and safe! I am really hoping that this will be a reality and we can all have afun, safe, responsible Saturday meeting some new people and checkingout some sick cars, as well as the awesome facilities at Modified FXand AllSpeed performance. Lets work together to make this event asuccess!

It's a forum that anyone can join. It can get a little childish at times, but there are a lot of cool people with really nice cars on there. Check it out: http://www.xceedspeed.com

I refuse to support Modified FX.
I worked and am friends with the guy, Ryan Graham that started Modified. When he was planning on opening his own store he wanted me to be his business partner and open Modified with him. But I didn't think it was a good idea for me and backed out. I just wasn't ready for the investment. Well to make a long story short, what one of his employees did that almost made Modified close and made him sell to its current owner, I'm glad I didn't go in on that venture. But when it was good before all the crap, I wish I had gone in with him.

so you won't see me there.

It's not all about the dyno... They're having the BBQ at the park then driving over to the Modified shop afterwards. I don't even think Modified is sponsoring it, they're only giving a few cheap dyno sessions afterwards.

Rob, the last time I checked the dyno signup sheet was full with a decent sized waiting list to boot :(

I got a quote from Aya Racing (Grandville, if I recall correctly) for dyno sessions... They offer 3 pulls for $150 (Includes use of their wideband 02 sensor, and pretty much any other sensors you'd like) That's the closest tuning shop I could find when I looked but I must admit I didn't ask any local car guys.

I haven't priced it in a couple years, but that seems high. Typical is more like $75 for 3 pulls plus maybe a little extra for the wideband o2.

Im going for sure. I would like to meet somewhere before hand and make a nice drive out of it through some curvy roads if anybody else is in. I have the roads in my head but i couldnt tell you all the names of them. We could pry meet somewhere in gr close to the highway (that will make it easy for you Jay) Then take the trip out there. Im open for suggestion and would like to know who is all in. Let me know.
